Royal & Architectural Mehndi Motifs
Bring the grandeur of Indian palaces and monuments to your hands with my signature Rajwada inspired mehndi art.
This design combines a royal palace dome on the wrist with a magnificent peacock on the palm. The use of geometric patterns and intricate shading gives it a classic, regal look.
A demonstration of a Rajwada or royal palace style cuff design. The clean lines and geometric star pattern below the palace architecture create a bold and striking effect on the arm.

About this collection
Architectural mehndi requires steady pressure and clean lines to make the structures look sharp. When I draw a palace dome or an intricate archway, I map the spacing carefully so the monument stands out against the skin, ensuring the design remains legible and striking once the stain darkens.
The Rajwada style is all about bringing royal grandeur to your palms. Whether it is the curved arches of a palace or the silhouette of a dome, these designs serve as a statement piece for brides who want something beyond traditional floral patterns.
Why choose architectural motifs?
These designs are structurally complex. They combine fine detailing with geometric balance, creating a bold, regal look that photographs exceptionally well. I often integrate these monuments with traditional elements like peacocks or lattice work (jaali) to soften the look, ensuring it feels like part of your overall bridal ensemble rather than a standalone drawing.
How I work on these designs
I treat my cone like a pencil and your hand like a canvas. I start by sketching the main structure to ensure the proportions are right. This is important because, unlike flowers or vines, architectural shapes cannot be improvised if the spacing goes wrong. I typically suggest this style for the forearm or the back of the hand where there is enough surface area to showcase the full detail of the arches and rooftops.
Care for your architectural design
Because these designs rely heavily on fine lines, maintaining the integrity of the drawing is vital. My advice is to keep the area dry and avoid heavy washing for at least 8 to 10 hours after application. This lets the henna paste set deeply into the skin, giving you that rich, dark colour that makes the geometric details pop.
