The strength of your turf starts underneath. We explain the difference between single and double backing, pile heights, and drainage to help you pick the right grade.

About Turf Construction & Backing
The backing is the foundation of your turf. Single backing is lightweight and flexible, making it ideal for low-traffic spots like balconies or wall cladding. For high-footfall areas or outdoor lawns, double backing provides the necessary density and stability to prevent fiber shedding and shifting over time.
You cannot judge turf just by looking at the green blades. The real durability lies in the base.
Why Backing Matters
The backing is where the grass blades are stitched.
- Single Backing: This is a lighter, more flexible option that is easy to cut and handle. Use this for decorative walls, indoor event flooring, or low-traffic balconies.
- Double Backing: We use a combination of latex and reinforced grid. This adds weight, keeps the turf from shifting, and offers superior longevity against constant footsteps. This is standard for our 35mm to 65mm residential lawns where you need a lasting finish.
Drainage is Critical
If you are installing outdoors, water needs to escape. All our stock comes with pre-punched drainage holes in the backing. This allows rainwater to pass through efficiently during the Delhi monsoon, ensuring your lawn stays clean and free of waterlogging.
Technical Specifications for Selection
When choosing your turf, consider these three factors:
- Pile Height: 20mm is for carpet-like surfaces; 35mm to 65mm provides the natural look and sink-in feel.
- UV Protection: Our outdoor turf includes UV-resistant fibers. Without this, the harsh sun will fade the color within one season.
- Stitch Rate: A higher stitch rate equates to better density and a fuller look.
If you are in Delhi-NCR, we handle the installation. We use heavy-duty synthetic rubber adhesive and tape for perimeter pasting to ensure a smooth, edge-to-edge finish. We don't overcomplicate it; we just provide the right grade for your specific project.
