About Statement Earrings: Jhumkas & Chandbalis
When choosing between a jhumka and a chandbali, consider your hairstyle and the rest of your outfit. If you are already wearing a heavy necklace, I recommend smaller jhumkas to balance your look, but if you prefer to keep your neck bare, my oversized, meenakari-work chandbalis are dramatic enough to stand alone and draw all the attention.
My Approach to Festive Earrings
At Vaishnavi Arts, I believe earrings can completely change how you look, whether it is for a wedding, a sangeet, or a simple festive dinner. My collection ranges from subtle, daily-wear tops to heavy, five-inch shoulder-grazing party danglers.
What to Expect
- The 'Real Gold' Look: I focus on fine craftsmanship. Most of my pieces are made using a copper or brass alloy base with high-gold or matte antique plating. If you look closely at the soldering and the Meenakari enamel work on the reverse of my traditional pieces, you will see the level of detail I insist on.
- Material & Quality: I work with star-cut American Diamonds, glass-filled Polki replicas, and semi-precious stone simulants like onyx and agate. The stones are set in prong settings or hand-set in kadas to ensure they don't fall out during your event.
- Versatility: You will find a mix of designs here—classic bell-shaped jhumkas, crescent-shaped chandbalis, and modern chandeliers. I keep options in silver, rose gold, and yellow gold plating to match whatever outfit you have chosen.
Practical Tips for Your Purchase
- Weight & Comfort: My larger, heavy sets use a standard push-back mechanism with plastic or metal tighteners. If you are planning to dance all night at a wedding, let me know, and I can suggest the more lightweight AD designs instead of the heavy kundan pieces.
- Styling Advice: If you are wearing a saree with a heavy border, I suggest matching it with my peacock-motif antique earrings. For a modern lehenga or a western-fusion outfit, the American Diamond chandbalis are a better fit.
Pricing for these starts at ₹450 and goes up to ₹3200 for the most elaborate, grand sets. Everything I stock is unique, so when a design is gone, it is usually gone for good.
