Shared spaces should do more than just exist. I design clubhouses, rooftop pools, and fitness zones that turn a residential building into a functioning community.

The rooftop pool at Ekta Tripolis in Goregaon, Mumbai. We designed this space to be a true urban escape, with in-water lounge chairs and a stunning view of the city skyline, offering residents a resort-like experience at home.

A collage of the completed clubhouse interiors at Trilogy, Ekta Tripolis. We created a vibrant, multi-functional space with dedicated zones for carrom, table tennis, billiards, and a modern coffee shop, all designed with a playful and energetic aesthetic.

The wellness zone in our residential project in Lower Parel. We designed two distinct spaces: a high-energy gym with graffiti art and a tranquil yoga room with a calming mural, catering to different moods and fitness preferences.

A render of the sky-level infinity pool at Crescent Park 9 in Bandra. The design incorporates lush greenery and elegant cabanas to create a luxurious and private recreational space for residents.

The entrance to the Club Trilogy at Ekta Tripolis. The double-height space and extensive use of indoor plants create a fresh and welcoming atmosphere, setting the stage for the vibrant recreational facilities inside.

The games room at Trilogy, Ekta Tripolis, is designed for fun and social interaction. With foosball, table tennis, and pool tables, the space uses bold graphics and a dynamic layout to create a lively and engaging environment.

The coffee shop at the Trilogy clubhouse. We used a mix of modern chairs in shades of teal and beige, along with a curved wooden feature wall, to create a chic and comfortable spot for residents to socialize.

A detail from the Trilogy clubhouse, showing a high-top seating area. The design incorporates tactile materials like the yellow and blue acoustic wall panel, adding both visual interest and functional sound absorption to the space.

The corridor leading to the wellness areas at Trilogy, Ekta Tripolis. We used clean lines, a wood-slatted ceiling, and artistic silhouettes on the wall to create a calming and aesthetically pleasing transition space.

The landscaped recreation deck at Ekta Tripolis. This space was designed to offer residents a variety of outdoor experiences, from a green lawn for social gatherings to a semi-private lounge area under a pergola.

About Urban Sanctuaries: Lifestyle & Amenity Design

Designing common areas involves a difficult trade-off between open floor plans and distinct functional zones. In a project like the Trilogy clubhouse, we had to carefully place high-energy gaming areas so they would not disrupt the quiet coffee lounge. When we discuss your project, we should evaluate your site's footprint to prioritize the amenities that will actually serve your specific resident demographic.

Designing shared amenities requires a different mindset than designing a private home. In a residence, you design for the individual, but in a clubhouse, gym, or terrace, you design for a community that changes daily. My approach starts with flow and durability.

Whether it is the sky-level infinity pool at Crescent Park 9 in Bandra or a multi-functional games zone at Ekta Tripolis in Goregaon, the layout must handle high traffic without losing its sense of calm. I focus heavily on high-impact materials that withstand years of use. We use specialized acoustic wall panels in play areas to ensure the noise of a billiards table does not disturb someone reading in the adjacent lounge. Lighting is another critical layer. For gymnasiums, we ensure the Lux levels are optimized for safety, while the coffee shop or library spaces use softer, warmer lighting to encourage social interaction.

We integrate greenery into these urban spaces to provide a mental break from the city. I prioritize vertical gardens and water features that are not just decorative but functional for air quality and climate control. A well-designed amenity space adds genuine property value, but more importantly, it gives residents a reason to step out of their private units and connect with their neighbors.

After 37 years of practice, I know that shared spaces define the daily character of a building. My team and I focus on the technical details, from acoustic engineering to traffic flow, ensuring these areas remain durable and inviting. When you work with us, you work with me directly, not just a junior team.
