About Beach & Seaside Stories
Shooting by the sea is unpredictable. The wind shifts, the tide comes in fast, and the light is always changing. These videos show the real process behind my beach portraits—how I manage the elements, work with natural light, and get those candid moments while battling sea spray and sandy gear.
Most people see the final portrait, but the actual shoot is a completely different experience. It involves a lot of trial and error, quick movements, and working with the environment rather than against it. When we head out to beaches across Mumbai, I am constantly watching the horizon for that perfect golden hour glow or using the overcast sky for soft, diffused lighting.
I use my Sony a7iv and Sigma Art lenses to capture both the wide, cinematic landscape and the tiny details like the fabric of your outfit or the way your hair moves in the breeze. My BTS videos capture the 'jugaad'—the creative workarounds we use when the wind ruins a pose or when we need to change outfits in a makeshift spot. It is raw, unfiltered, and honest.
