My Handmade Candle Making Process
I don't just sell candles; I make them from scratch. From designing the moulds for my signature Ladoo candles to hand-pouring every piece with soy wax, here is how I bring these pieces to life.
People often wonder how I make these candles. The secret is that I do everything from scratch, including making the molds myself to achieve that authentic Ladoo look. It’s a true labor of love.
This shows the simple but beautiful transformation of my raw materials. I start with a large batch of natural soy wax flakes and turn them into these vibrant, festive Ladoo Candles that you all love so much.
Your safety and well-being are important to me. That’s why I strictly avoid paraffin wax and toxic fragrance oils. My commitment is to use only high-quality, natural soy wax for a clean and healthy candle experience.
About My Handmade Process
Since I make these candles by hand, you might occasionally spot a tiny bubble or a slight variation in the boondi texture of my Ladoo candles. Please know that these aren't flaws. They are proof that a person, not a machine, poured your candle. This also means you can be certain that no paraffin, sulphates, or toxic chemicals are hiding in the mix.
Why I choose soy over paraffin
I get asked often why I don't use paraffin wax. It is simple: paraffin is a petroleum byproduct, and when it burns, it releases toxins into your home air. I want you to feel safe lighting my candles around your family. That is why I use 100% natural soy wax for every piece, whether it is my Chai Cup candle or the festive Ladoo collection.
The journey of a Ladoo candle
The Ladoo candles are the ones I get the most questions about. To get that realistic texture, I actually create my own moulds from scratch. I spend weeks experimenting with the wax temperatures to ensure the boondi looks authentic without losing the candle's stability.
Once the mould is ready, I pour the soy wax, add non-toxic fragrance oils, and finish them with a faux silver vark. Because I control every step of this process in my Bengaluru studio, I can promise that what you see is exactly what you get.
Caring for your handmade candles
Since these are made from soy wax, they are softer than store-bought paraffin candles. They are designed for a clean burn, typically lasting about 1.5 to 2 hours for the small Ladoo sizes and 15+ hours for the larger tea cups. When you receive your order, you will find care instructions inside the box to help you get the best burn. If you have questions about custom bulk orders for weddings or festivals, just send me a message and we can chat about the timeline.
