Spinfinity: Where Movement Meets Mathematics
I'm Aditi. I help you or your child rediscover math through the geometry of motion. Whether it is hula hoop physics or poi based storytelling, we turn abstract concepts into tangible experiences.
This is what learning math can look like. In my sessions, we ditch the desks and bring concepts to life through movement. You can see kids here exploring geometry with the "Diameter Dance," practicing multiplication with "HoopScotch Counting," and even understanding 3D shapes by building a giant cylinder. It's all about joyful, embodied learning.
I created my Spinfinity summer camp to show kids that math is not just formulas, it is rhythm, symmetry, and balance. This video gives you a peek into how we use hula hoop games and cool tricks to develop mathematical skills in a fun, playful way. We spin hoops to explore infinite possibilities.
Welcome to Spinfinity, the space where I explore the infinite connections between movement, math, and art. Using flow props like hoops, poi, and fans, I trace the beautiful patterns that are all around us. This is the core idea behind my teaching, to help kids see and feel the math that exists in motion.
The path of a hoop can reveal incredible geometric patterns, like finding a secret love letter from math. In this video, I traced the light trails from my hoops frame by frame to visualize the shapes created by movement. It’s a perfect example of how patterns and symmetry, the heart of mathematics, connect directly to hooping.
My classes are designed for small groups to ensure every child gets the attention they need, and they often fill up quickly. This graphic shows an update from a recent session where the adult batch sold out, with only a few spots left for the kids' batch. Be sure to check for new openings.
Here's a little bit about me. I'm a flow artist and educator who has been hooping since I was six years old. I'm building 'Hoop School' to put a new spin on traditional education, using movement to explore math and physics, especially with neurodiverse students. My mission is to revolutionize learning, one spin at a time.
About Featured
Most folks think math happens at a desk, but in my sessions, we find it in the arc of a hoop toss or the symmetry of a poi pattern. We do not just memorize formulas here. Instead, we use our bodies to solve geometric problems, meaning you or your child will be learning concepts like volume and centrifugal force while actually having fun moving.
I launched Spinfinity because I grew up seeing math taught as a static, joyless subject, while I personally found my understanding of the world through the circular motion of a hoop. I realized that my own relationship with mathematics, from simple arithmetic to complex topology, was not occurring in a textbook, but in the swing of my arms and the spin of my hips.
Embodied Learning in Practice
I design my sessions to bridge the gap between abstract STEM concepts and physical movement. We work out of spaces like Bangalore Creative Circus, using high ceilings to explore the full potential of our props.
- For Kids: We replace worksheets with games like HoopScotch, where skip counting and multiplication happen in real time as they jump.
- For Adults: We look at technical mastery, transition flow, and the physics of multi prop work, making the math of movement intuitive.
Why This Approach Works
My curriculum is built on the principle of embodied cognition. When you feel the weight of a hoop or the pull of a poi, you are physically experiencing vectors and arcs. I have specifically tailored my teaching style to be neurodiverse friendly, creating an environment where perfection is secondary to the process. If a hoop drops, we laugh, reset, and keep the flow going. We are not just training body coordination, we are training resilience and logical thinking in a way that sticks.
