Architecture Design Process: From Initial Sketch to Construction
We involve you in every milestone. See how we turn concepts into reality, from our first hand-drawn sketches and 3D visualizations to final on-site supervision.
A video showing the evolution of a design from a hand-drawn sketch to a polished 3D visualization. This is how we translate our initial creative ideas into realistic and detailed architectural renders for our clients.
A side-by-side comparison of a conceptual sketch and the final 3D render for the LP Walk Mall. This demonstrates our commitment to quick delivery and how the core idea is maintained and refined throughout the design process.
The initial concept sketch for the Kohinoor Ikon, a commercial tower in Navi Mumbai. Sketching allows us the flexibility to quickly explore facade options and massing before committing to a detailed 3D model.
Our principal architect sketching out ideas for the Kohinoor Ikon project. We believe that the initial stages of visualization are crucial, and hand-drawing is a powerful tool for design exploration.
A video of our team selecting glass samples for a project in bright sunlight. This is a critical part of our process to understand how a material will perform visually and thermally on the actual building facade.
Our principal architect discussing glass options with a client on site. We ensure that material selections are made with a full understanding of their real-world impact on the building's elevation and the view from within.
A point-of-view video of a typical site visit. Our architects are on-site to check drawings, verify slab measurements, and note levels to ensure that the construction perfectly matches our design specifications.
About this collection
When we start a project, we do not jump straight into software. We believe in the power of the hand-drawn sketch to explore massing and facade options before touching a computer. This manual exploration saves weeks of revisions later because we iron out fundamental volume and light issues while the idea is still flexible and easy to change.
Our design process is structured to remove the guesswork between what is drawn on paper and what is built on site.
Phase 1: Concept and Sketching
Architecture starts with the site. We analyze contours, sun-path orientation, and local climate patterns first. Whether it is a luxury villa or a high-rise, we start with hand sketches. This allows us to quickly test facade options, massing, and Vastu compliance without the rigidity of 3D modeling tools.
Phase 2: Technical Visualization
Once the concept is solid, we move to 3D visualization. This is not just for show. We create high-resolution renders and conceptual walkthroughs to check how the space feels. We also use this stage to integrate MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) layouts so that practical necessities like AC ducts or service pipes do not clutter your final interior design.
Phase 3: On-Site Supervision
We do not believe in handing over a set of drawings and walking away. We manage the construction execution. This includes selecting materials like glass and cladding in bright daylight to see how they will actually perform on the facade. Our team visits sites—from our home base in Navi Mumbai to projects as far as Guwahati—to ensure slab levels, reinforcement quality, and finishes match the original vision. If a cantilever needs specific structural coordination or the lighting strategy needs a real-time test, we are there to oversee it.
A Cube Architects
We are a team that sees buildings as dreams, not just bricks. Whether it is a private bungalow or a commercial tower, we stay involved on-site, ensuring the vision you see in our early sketches is exactly what you get at the end of the project.
