I specialize in capturing the authentic textures and deep colors of North Indian cuisine. From steaming biryanis to rich, creamy curries, my photography is designed to make your menu items look as appetizing on screen as they do on the table.

A Hyderabadi chicken biryani, styled with traditional copper and brass serveware for The Nawaab’s. The lighting is crafted to highlight the texture of the rice and the rich color of the chicken.

Nalli Nihari, a slow-cooked lamb shank curry, photographed for The Nawaab’s in Hyderabad. The dark, rustic styling complements the rich, traditional nature of this Hyderabadi specialty.

Freshly grilled chicken kebabs on skewers, captured for Punjab Grill. The focus is on the char marks and juicy texture, making it an ideal shot for a barbecue and tandoori menu.

A complete North Indian vegetarian thali for Chhappan Bhog. This overhead shot is composed to display the variety of dishes, including paneer curry, dal makhani, and jeera rice, for menu and advertising use.

A close-up of Chicken-e-Rubaruh, a signature creamy chicken curry. This shot for Rubaruh highlights the rich gravy and tender chicken, styled in traditional brassware to reflect the brand's identity.

Mutton-e-Rubaruh, featuring tender mutton chops in a flavorful gravy. The composition for Rubaruh uses classic props to create an authentic, fine-dining atmosphere.

Shahi Paneer photographed for Rakesh Masala. The styling emphasizes the creamy texture and rich color of the gravy, perfect for packaging and recipe features.

Dal-e-Rubaruh, a version of Dal Makhani, presented in a traditional setting. The dollop of butter is the focal point, conveying a sense of richness and authentic flavor.

A classic vegetarian thali for Grover Sweets, featuring an array of popular North Indian dishes. The flat lay composition provides a clear and comprehensive view for menu purposes.

Chur-Chur Naan served with dal makhani and shahi paneer. This image for Grover Sweets captures a popular and satisfying North Indian meal combination.

About Mughlai & North Indian Cuisine

Most photographers just show up with a camera. I bring a full studio setup to your kitchen—lighting, backdrops, and props—to handle everything from plating and garnishing to the final shot. I ensure your dishes look exactly as they should on the plate: fresh, juicy, and ready for your menu.

Shooting North Indian and Mughlai cuisine presents specific challenges. These dishes, including rich gravies, charred kebabs, and delicate biryanis, require precise lighting to show texture rather than just a flat image. My process is technical and rigorous.

Using the Canon EOS R5 and dedicated macro lenses, I capture details like the grain of the rice, the char marks on a kebab, or the glaze on a curry. My workflow is not just about the camera; it is about the kitchen. I work on-site, whether it is a busy café or a high-end kitchen, and I bring my own lighting, including 120cm Octaboxes and specific modifiers, to control the mood and contrast.

My approach to food styling is fundamental to the result. I handle plating adjustments, cleaning edges, and using techniques like oil brushing to keep ingredients looking fresh under studio lights. For clients like The Nawaab’s, Punjab Grill, and Rubaruh, I have built workflows that are efficient enough not to disrupt your daily operations while delivering high-impact images for print menus, delivery platforms, and advertising campaigns.

Whether you need a full menu catalog or hero images for a billboard, I provide the technical expertise and the styling to make your food stand out. I am available for on-location shoots throughout Delhi NCR and can travel across India for larger projects.

I am Abhishek Khanna. My camera is my main tool, but my hands do just as much work styling the plate. I do not just capture images; I make sure the food looks exactly as tempting as it tastes.
