Live Painting for Galleries and Art Events
Watch the creative process unfold in real-time. Whether it is an intimate gallery opening or a public festival, I bring the canvas to life as your guests watch the texture and form emerge.
Beginning a live oil portrait at Rendition Art Gallery in Juhu. The initial stage involves laying down a tonal ground to establish the light and shadow before building up the details.

Another angle from the demonstration at Kamalnayan Bajaj Art Gallery, showing the portrait in its early stages. The warm, yellow-toned underpainting helps create a sense of light and harmony in the finished work.

In my studio, working on a piece titled "The Hope of Innocent Flowers" for the Maharashtra State Art Exhibition at Jehangir Art Gallery. This work explores the metaphor of slum children and their resilient spirit.
About Live Painting at Galleries & Art Events
When I paint live, the audience isn't just watching, they become part of the composition. You will see me switch between brushes and palette knives, layering oils to catch the light and mood of your specific venue, ensuring the portrait isn't just a likeness but a capture of the event's energy.
At the intersection of observation and action, my live painting sessions are designed to turn your event into a living studio. I bring my easel and tools directly to your venue, working from a blank canvas to a completed oil or acrylic portrait within the session window. My style leans heavily into impressionism and expressionism, utilizing an impasto technique—applying thick, layered paint with palette knives—to ensure every stroke vibrates with texture and movement.
Whether you are hosting an intimate gallery show or a large-scale festival, I tailor my approach to suit the environment. For academic or institutional settings, I often break down the process, explaining anatomy and color mixing for the students watching. In private or commercial events, the focus shifts to the energy of the crowd and the subject, allowing the interaction to influence the final composition.
My technical process is rooted in my training at the Sir J.J. School of Art. I prioritize honest observation over hyper-realistic copying. You will not see me tracing or rushing toward a generic finish. Instead, I build the portrait by establishing a tonal ground first, then layering color to capture the subject's essence. This requires specific lighting and a designated space, but the result is a one-of-a-kind original piece that captures the spirit of your occasion.
