Bridal Portraits: Authentic & Timeless Wedding Photography
Your bridal portraits should reflect you, not just the jewellery. I focus on capturing the grace and anticipation of your day through natural, unposed moments.
A full-length portrait showcasing Vraja's magnificent and unique bridal lehenga. I work with light and posture to create stunning images that highlight the intricate details of your attire.
An artistic portrait using the bride's dupatta to create a sense of mystery and elegance. This creative approach results in truly one-of-a-kind bridal photos.
Using light and shadow to create a dramatic and artistic bridal portrait. The silhouette in the background adds a layer of depth and storytelling to the image.
A classic bridal portrait in a beautifully lit room. The chandelier and elegant decor complement the bride's stunning red lehenga, creating a picture of pure grace.
A timeless black and white profile of the bride, Vraja. This classic style accentuates her features, jewelry, and the delicate hairstyle, creating a portrait of classic beauty.
A candid shot of the bride getting her eyelashes curled. I capture these small, behind-the-scenes moments that build the story of the wedding day.
The final touches. A beautiful shot of the bride adjusting her earring, with her personalized wedding lehenga hanging in the background, telling a complete story in one frame.
About this collection
Most bridal photos feel staged, but the best ones happen when you forget I am even there. I prefer to guide you through the 'getting ready' phase rather than forcing rigid poses, so we catch those natural glances, the quiet moments of adjusting your accessories, and the genuine excitement before the ceremony. It makes the final portraits feel relaxed and true to who you are.
My Approach to Bridal Portraiture
Photography is often about the loud moments—the dancing and the crowds—but I find that bridal portraits are about the quiet ones. Whether you are getting ready in a hotel suite or your childhood home, I look for the interplay of light and shadow that frames you naturally.
The 'Fearless' Documentary Style My style is rooted in documentary photography. I do not ask you to hold a smile for minutes on end. Instead, I create a comfortable environment where you can adjust your dupatta or look into a mirror, and I capture the resulting grace. This brings out the authenticity that standard wedding photography often misses.
Planning Your Portrait Session
- Getting Ready: I recommend setting aside 45 minutes before you leave for the venue. This is when the light is usually best and your makeup is fresh.
- Lighting & Composition: I utilize available window light to create portraits that feel soft and cinematic.
- Black & White: I include classic monochrome edits because they emphasize texture—the embroidery of your lehenga, the details of your jewellery, and your expressions—without the distraction of colour.
What You Can Expect My goal is for these photos to be part of a larger story. We will blend a few classic, directed portraits with a series of candid shots that capture your personality. If you have a specific location in mind, such as a heritage property in Mumbai or a lush resort, we can incorporate the architecture into your frames to add depth and context. These images are intended to document not just how you looked, but how you felt in the moments before you walked down the aisle.
Rahul Patwa
I am Rahul. I believe your wedding photos should feel like a memory, not a production. Having been in your shoes recently, I know that the best portraits happen when you are comfortable, laughing, and just being yourself, whether that is in a grand hall or your own living room.
