Capturing your love story against the golden dunes of Dubai. A blend of cinematic portraits and raw, candid moments in one of the world's most stunning landscapes.

A destination pre-wedding shoot in the stunning Dubai desert. The unique architecture half-buried in sand creates a surreal and beautiful setting for this couple's portrait, showcasing how exotic locations can elevate a photoshoot.

This collage showcases the epic scale of the Dubai desert. The top photo shows the couple standing atop a vast sand dune, while the bottom image places them against dramatic rock formations for a different texture.

A quiet moment inside an abandoned structure, with sand pouring in through the window. This shot tells a story, with the couple looking out at the desert expanse, creating a cinematic and contemplative pre-wedding portrait.

About Dubai Desert Escapes

Desert shoots require precise timing to avoid harsh midday shadows that can ruin skin tones. I plan these sessions around the golden hour, using my 35mm and 50mm lenses to balance the vast scale of the dunes with the intimacy of your relationship. It is not just about the landscape; it is about choosing the right fabrics and colors for your outfits to ensure you stand out against the golden sand without clashing.

Planning Your Desert Session

Shooting in the desert is a unique experience that demands a different approach to photography. The environment is vast, which is visually striking, but it can also be overwhelming if you do not have a plan.

The Gear and The Light

I shoot these sessions using my Canon EOS R system paired with prime lenses. Prime lenses are non-negotiable here; they provide the wide apertures needed to create that creamy background blur and cinematic depth. We work primarily during the golden hour and blue hour. This ensures the light is soft, wrapping around the curves of the dunes rather than washing them out.

Styling for the Dunes

What you wear matters. The desert has a uniform color palette—warm oranges, yellows, and browns. I always suggest avoiding busy patterns that distract from the landscape. Instead, we look for flowy fabrics that catch the wind and solid colors that provide high contrast against the sand, like deep blues, whites, or earthy greens. If we are shooting near structural elements or abandoned ruins, we adjust the styling to complement the textures of the stone and sand.

A Different Kind of Storytelling

My style is about the 'Fearless' approach. I am not looking for you to stare into the camera for every shot. I want to capture the way you walk across the sand, the quiet moments of conversation when you think I am not watching, and the energy you bring to this new chapter of your lives. Whether you want to climb the dunes for an epic wide shot or stay low for a minimalist black and white portrait, the focus remains on your connection.

Since I travel for destination shoots, we can coordinate logistics well in advance, including the best time of year to avoid the extreme heat and ensure the desert is accessible for our shoot.

I'm Rahul. I believe your pre-wedding shoot should feel like the start of your real story, not a movie set. When I travel for destination shoots like these in Dubai, I’m looking for the quiet, raw moments between the grand landscape shots.
