About Royal Portraits: Brides & Grooms
I do not do stiff, mannequin-like poses. My portrait sessions are designed to be fluid, whether we are capturing the intricate embroidery of a Paithani saree or the sharp structure of a groom's sherwani. I wait for the moment you stop performing for the camera and start just existing in the space, which is exactly why my portraits at places like the Taj carry that cinematic, effortless weight.
Portrait photography is about more than just looking good in your wedding attire. It is about catching the calm before the storm, the feeling of anticipation, and the specific beauty of the traditions you have chosen to honor.
My approach to bridal portraits is heavily influenced by the cultural significance of the attire. When I photograph a bride in a Paithani or Nauvari saree, I focus on the rich textures, the heavy gold, and the classic grace that these garments command. We look for backgrounds that do not distract from the subject, often using architectural details or natural, muted light to ensure the focus remains entirely on your expressions.
For the grooms, I shift the gear towards a more editorial, 'Vogue' style aesthetic. I find that when we shoot in locations like the Taj Mahal Palace, the history of the venue helps frame the groom with a sense of quiet power. I look for clean lines, sharp shadows, and natural postures that feel comfortable yet high-fashion.
Whether we are shooting a destination wedding in Goa or a traditional ritual in Pune, my goal is to create images that do not just show what you wore, but how you felt. I want you to look back at these photos and remember not just the ceremony, but the person you were in that exact second of your life.
