The Thinai Project: A Feminist Reimagining

This was a massive commissioned project reinterpreting the five classical Tamil landscapes (Thinai) through a modern, feminist lens. Each of the four large paintings, created with acrylic on Tussar Munga silk, explores themes of female empowerment, leadership, and self-love within the traditional poetic framework.

Portraits: Capturing Memories and Energy

A portrait is a collaboration to capture the essence of a person, a family, or a cherished memory. I work from photographs, even old or unclear ones, focusing on the emotion and energy rather than just hyper-realism, to create a piece that will be treasured for generations.

Art as Activism: Stories of Resistance and Change

For me, art is a tool to ask questions, spark change, and tell the stories that need to be told. This collection features my feminist art, pieces on social justice, and works that grapple with the messy, urgent issues of our time. This is art with a point of view.

Spiritual & Mythological Visions

I often paint deities and spiritual concepts, not as religious icons, but as explorations of ideas like mindfulness, detachment, and the nature of reality. This is where I grapple with philosophy on canvas, inspired by everything from Advaita Vedanta to the stories of Krishna.

Sketches and Digital Explorations

My sketchbook and iPad are where ideas begin. This is a collection of my looser, more experimental work, including quick pencil and ink portraits, and digital paintings where I play with texture and color. These pieces offer a glimpse into my daily practice and creative process.

From the Studio: My Process and Inspiration

My studio is my sanctuary, the place where I fight fires, inside and out. This is a look behind the scenes at my creative process, from my paint covered hands and messy floor to the large scale projects that take over my home. It’s a glimpse into the life of an artist.

Additional Works

This is a collection of various other works, from abstract explorations and floral paintings to older pieces from my studio. It shows the breadth of my artistic practice and my love for experimenting with different subjects and styles.
