We are a community of volunteers working to bring back the simplicity of sustainable living. From composting to thrift drives, here is a look at the initiatives we run to keep our city clean.

We believe that change starts with our youngest generation. This video shows one of our hands-on composting workshops at a local school, where we teach children how kitchen scraps can be turned into "magic soil food," empowering them to become proud Compost Champions.

Take a quick tour of our 'Purana Baksa' community thrift stall in action. We collect pre-loved treasures from donors and find them new homes, with all proceeds funding our city cleanup drives. You can find everything from clothing to unique home decor.

This is where the magic begins. We partner with local juice vendors to collect their citrus peels, saving kilograms of organic waste from landfills every single day. This is the first step in creating our all natural, powerful bio-enzyme cleaners.

What do you do with flowers after pooja? We tackle this common dilemma with our 'Pavitra Pushp Visarjan' initiative, teaching the community how to respectfully upcycle sacred flowers into compost, room fresheners, and more, turning a moment of guilt into a positive environmental action.

Our volunteers are the heart of our movement. Here, you can see our team at a local market, distributing reusable bags and talking to vendors about reducing single use plastic. It's these small, consistent actions that create big waves of change.

The scale of urban waste is staggering, with mountains of trash piling up in landfills. This video shows the "before" of our large scale collection drives, where we gather clothes and dry waste from communities, and the "after" we are all working to prevent.

This is not a distant problem, this is happening right here in our city. The fire at the Bandhwari landfill is a stark and urgent reminder of why our work is so critical. Our mission is to prevent this by managing waste at its source, together as a community.

About Featured

Our work goes beyond just talking about climate change. Whether it is turning sacred puja flowers into compost or finding new homes for pre-loved clothes at our Purana Baksa pop-ups, every action here is designed to reduce the waste that ends up in our city landfills. When you participate in these initiatives, you are helping us build a system where waste becomes a resource.

We believe in the dadi-nani era approach, where nothing went to waste. Our journey began with a simple question: what kind of world are we leaving for our kids? This led us to move past guilt and into action.

We focus on three core areas to make Gurgaon a greener city:

Practical Waste Management

Landfills like Bandhwari are a real, urgent crisis. We tackle this by managing waste at the source. We run hands-on workshops that teach you how to turn kitchen scraps into compost and citrus peels into bio-enzyme cleaners. It is not about being perfect, it is about being mindful.

Purana Baksa Thrift Drives

Everyone has an old box of items that are too good to throw away. We organize thrift pop-ups where we sell these pre-loved clothes, books, and home decor at minimal prices. The money raised directly funds our community cleanup drives. It is eco-friendly decluttering that supports our city.

Community in Action

We show up for our city every third Sunday. From plogging in local forests to distributing newspaper bags to vendors, our volunteers are the heart of this movement. We are just a group of moms, students, and regular folks trying to make a difference. Join us, and let’s make 'Mera kachra, meri zimmedari' a shared reality.
