Planning a beach shoot involves more than just picking a spot. I prefer shooting during the golden hour to get that soft light, and if you are up for it, getting a little wet in the waves makes for the best candid shots. We will coordinate your outfits to complement the neutral tones of the sand and sea so the focus stays on your chemistry rather than the surroundings.

Coastal shoots are a favorite of mine because the environment does the heavy lifting. The horizon, the shifting tides, and the raw texture of the sand create a natural, cinematic backdrop that you cannot replicate in a studio. When we head to spots like South Goa for your pre-wedding shoot, we do not just take portraits. We find the quiet corners, the hidden rocky coves, and the stretches where it is just the two of you.

For those worried about the beach look, keep it simple. Flowy fabrics work well with the sea breeze, and neutral colors like white, beige, or soft blues often look more timeless against the ocean. We generally aim for the golden hour, about an hour before sunset, when the light is at its softest. If the tide is low, we can even walk along the wet sand, which creates beautiful reflections.

Do keep in mind that coastal locations often require a bit of walking or climbing over rocks. Wear comfortable shoes for the transitions—you can always switch into your shoot attire when we get to the spot. Also, Goa’s weather can be unpredictable. If we get a bit of mist or a cloudy day, trust the process. Overcast skies are often perfect for portraits because they diffuse the light, making everyone look their best without squinting into the sun.
