Living Tradition: My Family and Spiritual Journey

I believe that the art I create for others is only as strong as the roots I nurture at home. Here, I share the moments, festivals, and personal practices that shape my life and guide the way I serve you.

A personal greeting from my home pooja room. I am Vidya Naveen, and I am here to share my knowledge and help you connect with our traditions in a simple and soulful way.

People often ask me why I always wear sarees. For me, a saree is not just clothing; it is my comfort, my style, and a thread connecting me to my roots and traditions.

Getting ready for a festival, putting on my silver anklets. For me, every part of dressing up traditionally is a ritual in itself, a way of honoring the occasion.

A moment of quiet reflection before a pooja. Adorning my hair with fresh jasmine flowers is a simple act that makes me feel connected to our culture.

A festive look for Diwali. I believe that embracing our traditional attire and adornments enhances the spiritual and celebratory mood of our festivals.

Holding a lit deepa during Diwali. The lamp symbolizes the victory of light over darkness, a core message that I love to share through my work.

A full festive look for Diwali. I also offer guidance on personal styling for festivals, including makeup, hair, and saree draping, as part of my services.

About this collection

Whether I am guiding a family through a Vrata or styling a bride, my approach is consistent: keep it simple and keep it soulful. I do not just perform services; I share a way of life that I practice daily. If you are looking for someone who treats your occasions with the same reverence as her own family traditions, let us talk about how I can assist you.

My journey with Sanatana Dharma is not something I separate from my work—it is the foundation of everything I do. Born in Kodagu, it was only after joining the Srinidhi family that I truly understood the depth of our rituals and the discipline they bring to daily life.

I view my work in Kesh n Vastrakala (makeup and saree draping) as an extension of this discipline. Just as a ritual requires specific steps for purity and focus, a bridal look requires attention to detail, patience, and a respect for traditional aesthetics. My clients often notice that I favour classic buns and clean, elegant styling because these choices honour our cultural roots rather than chasing fleeting trends.

Everything you see here—from the way I set up a pooja for a festival to how I drape a saree for a bride—comes from my own home practice. I believe in sharing this knowledge because I know how intimidating it can feel to want to do things 'the right way' without having someone to explain the 'why'. Whether you are looking for guidance on a specific festival, need help planning a pilgrimage, or want a stylist who understands the sanctity of your special day, my goal is to make these traditions accessible, understandable, and deeply meaningful for you. Ashte simple.
