Musicmonk's Philosophy: Creating Moments Beyond Music
I don't chase technical perfection. I chase the energy, the connection, and the collective madness of the dance floor. This is the Monkstyle.
A recap of 2024, set to the words 'Zindagi ek safar hai suhana'. This video is a tribute to the beautiful journey of life and music, and my gratitude for everyone who has been a part of it.
This video shares a core belief: 'Life is short, make it a dance, make it a celebration'. It's a reminder to live freely and joyfully, a message I bring to every gig.
An artistic edit placing me within Van Gogh's 'Starry Night'. It represents the idea of music as art and the DJ as an artist painting a sonic landscape.
A video dedicated to everyone in the nightlife industry. It speaks to the sacrifices, the passion, and the unwavering belief that every sleepless night is a step towards our musical dreams.
About The Monk's Philosophy
When you see me behind the console, you won't find me stuck in technical perfection. My focus is reading the room and shifting the energy to match exactly what the crowd needs in that specific second. If the energy drops, I do not just switch tracks. I use the mic, I break the rhythm, and I bring the vibe back to life, whether it is a small club in Bangalore or a stage with 15,000 people.
People often ask why I bring so much madness to the console. The truth is simple. Perfection is boring. I have played at FLO in Bangalore and massive stages like the Maha Holi Festival, and in both scenarios, the technicality of the mix matters less than the emotional connection I share with the crowd.
My philosophy, what I call Monkstyle, is built on three pillars:
-
The Moment: Music is ephemeral. If I am just playing a playlist, I am not doing my job. I need to be in the zone, feeling the crowd heartbeat, and adjusting the setlist in real time. Whether it is Bollywood, Bollytech, or Punjabi bangers, the transition only works if the crowd feels it.
-
High Energy Interaction: I am not the DJ who hides behind a laptop. I am on the mic, I am hyping up the room, and I am making sure that the energy never stagnates. Mahol banao, nritya banao, that is the mantra.
-
Shared Memories: I want my sets to be a journey. When we do this right, you do not remember the exact track I played at 1:00 AM. You remember how you felt when the bass dropped.
For me, being a DJ is not just about the music. It is about being a guide through a high-energy Utsav. If you are looking for a sanitized, predictable set, there are plenty of others who do that. But if you want a set that feels like a collective release of tension, then we are going to get along just fine. Let us make your next event something people actually talk about the next day.
Musicmonk
I am Harshith, but behind the console, they call me Musicmonk. I mix Bollytech, Punjabi, and everything in between to keep the energy wild, but my real goal is to turn the chaos into a memory you actually keep.
