About Behind the Lens & Event Highlights
When you look through these highlights, you will notice there is no stiff staging. Whether it is a hectic Haldi ceremony or an intimate portrait session, my goal is to blend in rather than stand out. I do not ask you to hold a pose or force a smile; I move around until I find the moment where you forget I am even there, capturing the raw, messy, and beautiful reality of your day.
When I am documenting a wedding, I follow one rule: thambu nakos mala (don't stop for me). You will notice in these event highlights that the focus is on the action, not the camera. I am not standing in the middle of your Haldi screaming instructions at your friends. I am hovering, waiting for that one moment when the turmeric hits the cheek or when the groom laughs at something his cousin whispered. That is the real stuff.
My process is built on being a fly on the wall. If you are worried about feeling awkward, do not be. I have shot over 200 weddings, and my team knows how to blend into the background. For the films, we use lapel mics to catch the actual conversations—the stuff you will want to hear again in ten years—rather than just playing a trending song over slow-motion clips. We chase the 'marathi old is gold' aesthetic, but we mix it with modern cinematic techniques to keep it timeless. Whether we are shooting in a Mumbai studio or at a remote resort, the goal is always the same: to tell a story that feels like you, not a carbon copy of someone else’s Pinterest board.
