It was an absolute pleasure to teach this amazing bunch of people. As much as we love teaching, I hope the students loved learning.

About Our Bangalore Studio Experience
When you walk into our Basavanagudi space, you will find it is less of a classroom and more of a sanctuary. We keep our batches small so that every student—whether you have never held a brush before or you are an experienced artist—gets hands-on guidance with techniques like traditional muck work and applying real 24k gold foil. You do not need prior experience, just a bit of curiosity to start your journey.
Tanjore painting is a legacy passed down through three generations in my family. For over 40 years, we have kept this sacred art alive, and our studio here in Bangalore is where that tradition takes shape today. Learning in person allows you to grasp the nuances of the craft that videos simply cannot convey.
What you will experience in our studio
We start from the fundamentals, guiding you through the step-by-step process of traditional Thanjavur painting. You will learn to prepare the base, master the 3D muck work for relief, set Kundan stones, and carefully inlay 24k gold foil. It is a meditative process, often referred to as a sadhana, where the goal is to lose yourself in the flow of creation.
A supportive creative community
Our studio in Basavanagudi is a hub for art lovers from all walks of life. We believe anyone can paint; you just need to begin. Our in-studio classes provide a distraction-free zone where you can focus, ask questions, and share the joy of painting with fellow enthusiasts. Whether you are creating a Ganesha, Balaji, or Saraswati, you will leave with a masterpiece that is ready to be cherished for generations. We provide all the materials, so you only need to bring your enthusiasm.
Tanjore Collective
Hi, I am Vibha. I grew up with the scent of gold foil and paints, a tradition passed down from my grandmother to my mother and now to me. I love helping students find their own artist within, and nothing brings me more joy than seeing that spark in our studio.
