My Styling Process and Story
I moved from fashion design to personal styling because I wanted to dress real people, not mannequins. Here is how I build a wardrobe that actually reflects you.
Do you dare to dream? This is the story of The Style Planner, a mother-daughter venture that started 7 years ago with a mission to empower people through styling and makeup. Thank you for being part of our journey.
Some dreams don't change, they only get louder. From being a stylist and makeup artist to empowering women to feel confident, my journey has been incredible.
This photo takes me back to my early days of studying fashion design. This journey has truly come full circle, and I'm excited for what's next.
I made a bold choice to leave designing behind to focus on my dream career in Styling and Bridal Makeup Artistry. It was a leap of faith that I'm so grateful I took.
But design never really left me. I'm constantly surrounded by fabrics and swatches, whether for a client's custom outfit or my own projects.
I've created countless custom outfits for my clients since I first launched The Style Planner. This mood board is a glimpse into my creative process.
Through styling, I've brought so many outfits to life and have become a design consultant for my clients. It's a role I cherish, helping their vision become a reality.

About Behind The Scenes: My Process & Story
When I left fashion design to start The Style Planner seven years ago, I made a firm rule: no more rigid body type boxes. My styling process isn't about fitting you into a standard template or following fleeting trends. Instead, I focus on auditing what you already own, identifying gaps in your wardrobe, and applying corrective styling techniques that make sense for your height, proportion, and lifestyle. Whether we are doing a closet detox in Pune or a virtual colour analysis for a client in Dubai, the work is grounded in making you feel comfortable and empowered in your own skin.
How I Work
My journey began in 2018, building upon a mother-daughter legacy that started decades earlier. When I tell people I am a stylist, they often think it means just 'shopping for clothes.' But my process is much more clinical and collaborative.
The Methodology
- The Audit: Before we buy anything new, we look at what you have. We sort through your closet to see what works and what needs to go. We keep, donate, and repurpose items based on fit and personal aesthetic.
- The Analysis: I use the Korean colour draping method and technical fit analysis to show you exactly why certain cuts or shades make you look tired or vibrant. It is not an opinion; it is based on your skin undertones and proportions.
- The Strategy: We identify your 'gap list.' This saves you money because we only shop for the pieces that maximize your current wardrobe. I provide honest feedback on quality and fit, ensuring you aren't just buying clothes, but building a functional system.
Why I Changed My Approach
I was taught the traditional 'fruit-based' body type system in design school. It felt hollow because it ignored the reality of how real women live, work, and move. I started The Style Planner to fix that. I believe your clothes should feel like freedom. If you have been hesitant to hire a personal stylist because you fear being judged or pressured to buy a whole new wardrobe, know that my approach is the opposite. It is about understanding your habits—whether you are a busy mom, a corporate professional, or someone prepping for a wedding—and crafting a look that serves your day-to-day life.
From wardrobe edits to personal shopping and colour consultations, I am here to help you stop the 'I have nothing to wear' cycle for good.
