Celebrating Mumbai's Icons Through Street Art
From Bollywood legends to cricket gods, we capture the spirit of our city by turning massive public walls into tributes to the icons we all love.
The angry young man of Bollywood, immortalized on a Bandra building. This mural of Amitabh Bachchan by the Bollywood Art Project is one of the most famous street art pieces in Mumbai, overlooking the sea link.
Another perspective of the iconic Big B mural. Its sheer scale and prominent location make it a landmark, demonstrating how we help create art that becomes part of the city's identity.
A time-lapse showing the creation of a massive mural for Sachin Tendulkar's 50th birthday. This behind-the-scenes look shows the hard work and precision that goes into painting these giant tributes.
A unique tribute to the God of Cricket. This video shows artists from MSCRafters creating a portrait of Sachin Tendulkar by dipping cricket balls in paint and throwing them against the wall, a truly creative and fitting homage.
About Celebrating Mumbai's Icons
Transforming a wall into a tribute requires more than just paint. For projects like our Bandra murals, we handle the full stack, including municipal permissions, high-rise scaffolding, and artist coordination with groups like the Bollywood Art Project to ensure the final result stands up to Mumbai’s monsoon season.
When we take on an icon-based mural, we are thinking about longevity and visibility. Our team manages the logistics that most people don't see: site scouting for high-traffic areas in Bandra or Colaba, securing society NOCs, and managing the boom lifts required for multi-story walls.
We focus on durability as much as aesthetics. We use professional-grade aerosol paints like Montana 94 or Molotow, followed by a clear coat varnish for UV and weather resistance. This ensures that the portrait of a legend stays sharp for years, despite the salt air and heavy rain.
For the artistic side, we act as a bridge. Whether it is a hand-painted portrait or a unique technique like the cricket ball-splash style seen in our Sachin Tendulkar tributes, we scout the right artist for the specific visual story. We provide three rounds of digital mockups to ensure the client, whether it is a brand or a community, is happy with how the icon is represented on the street level. If you have a wall in mind, let’s talk about how we can turn it into a landmark.
