Namma Metro: Aerial Documentation & Infrastructure Filmmaking
I document Namma Metro’s expansion from the sky. As a DGCA-certified pilot with official BMRCL permissions, I capture everything from tunnel construction to the scenic tracks of Jayanagar in cinematic 4K.
A drone's view of the Namma Metro Green Line as it passes the iconic M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, showing how new infrastructure integrates with the city's most famous landmarks.
Ever wondered what's behind the barricades? This is an exclusive look inside a Namma Metro tunnel during construction, capturing the hard work that goes into building our city's underground network.
This shot captures the convergence of transport at KR Puram, with a Namma Metro train on the elevated track above a suburban train, set against the backdrop of the lake.
A top-down aerial view announcing the start of the Yellow Line, showing a train at the Jayanagar station surrounded by lush greenery.
Documenting the progress of the Pink Line at Tavarekere Metro Station on Bannerghatta Road, a key addition to Bengaluru's public transport system.
The five-level Jayadeva Metro Station is an engineering marvel. This aerial shot shows its complex structure, designed to integrate both the Yellow and Pink metro lines.
An aerial survey of the Namma Metro Yellow Line stations, from RV Road to Electronic City, providing a complete overview of this vital new corridor.
A misty morning in South Bengaluru, with a Namma Metro train emerging from the fog. This shot captures the city's unique weather and the metro's all-weather reliability.
A look at the Yellow Line metro track in Jayanagar. My aerial shots provide clear progress updates on crucial infrastructure projects across the city.
A day-to-night timelapse captured at the Jayanagar Ragigudda Metro Station, showing the changing sky from clear to a downpour, and finally the dazzling city lights.
About Namma Metro: Charting Bengaluru's Lifeline
Infrastructure is more than just concrete and steel. Whether it is the five-level complexity of Jayadeva station or the quiet rhythm of a train slicing through South Bengaluru’s greenery, I focus on capturing the scale that ground-level cameras simply miss. Using my Mavic 3 Pro and Avata 2, I secure the cinematic angles you need, ensuring every shot—from tunnel interiors to city-wide overviews—is compliant, safe, and visually striking.
Why Aerial Matters for Infrastructure
Documenting a massive project like the Namma Metro Yellow or Pink line requires more than just a wide-angle lens. It requires context. My drone footage allows stakeholders, investors, and the public to visualize the progress of massive undertakings like the Jayadeva Metro Station or the KR Puram interchange.
My Technical Process
- DGCA Certified & Compliant: I navigate the complexities of flight permissions in high-traffic urban zones. Safety is my first priority, especially when operating near sensitive BMRCL infrastructure.
- Precision Gear: I use the DJI Mavic 3 Pro for high-resolution site tracking and the Avata 2 FPV for immersive, fast-paced 'fly-through' tours of tunnels or construction shells.
- Cinematic Post-Production: I don't just hand over raw footage. I handle color grading from Log to Rec.709, ensure synchronization with licensed music, and add motion graphics to highlight specific construction milestones or station tiers.
What I Deliver
Whether you are a developer tracking construction milestones or a media agency needing stock footage of Bengaluru’s evolution, my packages are designed for clarity. You get high-res aerial photos for orthomosaic mapping and raw 4K footage for technical tracking.
If you have a site visit planned or need consistent 'then vs now' comparisons, reach out. I know the city's nooks, from the misty Jayanagar tracks to the busy Silk Board area, and I am ready to get that perfect shot.
Srihari Karanth
I'm Srihari, a filmmaker and DGCA-certified drone pilot obsessed with capturing Namma Bengaluru from the sky. When I’m not flying over the Yellow Line or documenting tunnel progress, I’m probably obsessing over the light on the metro tracks. My camera is my way of showing you that our city is beautiful, even in its construction.
