Family Wedding Styling and Outfit Coordination
Shopping with the whole family feels like starring in a chaotic, fun film. I help you navigate the drama and find outfits that make every single person look like they belong together without everyone looking identical.
The elegant mother of the bride. We found a beautiful golden saree that felt modern yet appropriate for an Indian wedding, making sure she felt comfortable and looked absolutely graceful.
The sister of the bride having her main character moment. It's always fun when family members want to try on something from the bridal section, and this gorgeous lehenga-saree looks amazing on her.
Getting the dad of the bride to experiment with color is always a win. He looks fantastic in this light-colored kurta, a refreshing change from the usual navy or black.
The granny of the groom, looking chic and comfortable while soaking in the culture. It's so important to me that every family member, regardless of age, feels their best.
A happy family moment during a designer preview. I love when the whole family gets involved in the fashion journey. Here I am with my husband, daughter, and mother-in-law.
A family that takes mirror selfies together. Shopping for wedding outfits is a team effort, and I make sure it's a fun experience for everyone, including the little ones.
Another family selfie because these moments are too precious. It shows how the shopping process can be a great bonding experience for the whole family.
Attending a wedding with my husband. For the celebration night, I'm wearing a custom black lehenga with a cape, and he is in a classic waistcoat, showing how a couple can coordinate in style.
Posing with the happy couple and friends. It's all about celebrating together, and I ensure my clients and their families look picture-perfect for these group photos.
A beautiful shot with the bride at a South Indian lunch. I styled my own fusion look with a Zara top and a dress worn as a skirt, while she looks radiant in a traditional silk saree.
About It's a Family Affair
I don't believe in identical outfits just for the sake of it. Instead, I focus on a shared color palette or theme that lets everyone keep their personal style while looking cohesive in photos. Whether it is finding a modern saree for Mom or getting Dad to experiment with pastel kurtas, my job is to make sure every family member feels comfortable in their own skin.
Wedding shopping with families is basically starring in your own chaotic, super fun film. My job is to be the director who keeps the plot moving. We start by sitting down and defining a vibe for the shaadi, not a strict dress code that makes everyone uncomfortable, but a thread that ties the family looks together.
For the mothers and aunts, I focus on silhouettes that balance tradition with modern comfort. For the younger siblings, I hunt for trends that pop in photos. And yes, I am the neutral party who mediates the saas-bahu shopping disagreements. If Mom wants something regal and the bride wants something chic, I find the middle ground so everyone leaves happy.
I spend time in Mumbai and Jaipur markets hunting for high-street pieces that mix well with luxury labels. This way, we save money on accessories or smaller functions while splurging where it counts. I also handle the nitty-gritty: fitting supervision, ensuring blouse cuts are secure, and making sure the little ones are comfortable enough to run around. You get the fun parts of shopping, while I handle the logistics.
