About Behind the Scenes: The Making of Mehendi
My process isn't just about applying henna; it’s about absolute precision. As you can see in my work, I often use a specialized stamping technique to map out complex figures like elephants or peacocks. This ensures the symmetry is perfect before I start the detailed shading. This step is crucial because I refuse to compromise on details, ensuring that when you look at your hands later, every line is exactly where it was meant to be.
I moved into mehendi full-time after my corporate career because I wanted to change how the experience felt for everyone. The industry standard often involves long, uncomfortable waits on small stools in crowded markets. My process is the complete opposite. I manage my bookings strictly so you are never rushed. Every client gets dedicated time, usually 1 to 2 hours, in a relaxed, air-conditioned lounge setting in Rajouri Garden.
Then there is the henna itself. My paste is 100% herbal and homemade, using the old leaf-based technique. I do not use those factory-made cones that leave a black, itchy residue. The result is a deep, natural maroon stain that develops fully over 48 hours. Whether you are coming in for a bridal session, foot mehendi, or a special Karwa Chauth design, we will first sit down to discuss your vision—maybe a custom storytelling pattern or a traditional mandala—and then execute it with care. I believe mehendi is a personal ritual, not a transaction, and that shows in every stroke I make.
