About Traditional & Royal Motifs
The secret to these royal designs is how I handle negative space. Instead of filling every single inch with henna, I use specific shading and spacing around the peacock and elephant motifs. This balance makes the artwork look sharp and regal, rather than just a dark blob of henna. It is a technique that requires steady hands and patience, which is why these designs take longer to apply than standard patterns.
When people ask for traditional Indian mehandi, they are usually looking for the classic combination of peacocks, lotus flowers, and royal jharokhas (arches). These motifs are timeless for a reason: they carry deep cultural meaning and look stunning in bridal photos. My process starts by mapping out the main figures—like the central elephant procession or the peacock pair—and then building the geometric 'jaali' (net) and intricate floral fillers around them.
Since I exclusively use 100% natural, organic henna that I mix myself, I don't rely on chemicals for a 'quick' dark stain. My 'Pura Rang' guarantee means you will get a deep, reddish-brown colour that develops over 24 to 48 hours. I often tell my brides that the quality of the stain depends as much on the aftercare as it does on the application. I will walk you through exactly how to care for your henna to ensure it reaches its peak darkness for your wedding ceremony.
I am based in Janakpuri, but I travel all over Delhi NCR and across India for weddings. If you like the look of these royal motifs but want to add a personal touch—like a specific wedding date or a hidden name—just let me know. I enjoy customising these traditional patterns so your mehandi feels personal to your story.
