Essential Dog Health, Safety, and Boarding Advice
Choosing the right boarding for your dog is about more than just a safe space. It's about understanding dog psychology and ensuring your pet remains healthy and stress-free while you're away.
As a responsible dog owner, it's important to be proactive about your dog's health. Here are six key ways to protect your dog, from watching for symptoms to keeping up with annual vaccinations.
I know how hard it is to leave your dog behind. That's why I created a place that provides true care, so you don't have to worry. Board your dog with us for peace of mind.
What is the right age to start boarding your puppy? I recommend starting only after they are fully vaccinated, around 3.5 months old, and have had a chance to get comfortable with the place and staff first.
Making your dog comfortable with a new boarding center is a process. I explain my recommended three-step method for gradual introduction, from a short first visit to a trial overnight stay, to ensure a stress-free experience.
Do you know the signs of a healthy dog? This quick guide shows you what to look for, including bright eyes, a shiny coat, and smooth skin. A healthy dog is a happy dog.
About this collection
I strongly advise against jumping straight into a multi-day boarding stay. My recommended three-step transition process starts with a quick day visit for your dog to explore the play arena and meet our handlers, followed by a short daycare stint, before finally booking an overnight stay. This prevents separation anxiety and ensures your dog views our resort as a second home rather than a strange, scary place.
Building a Safe Environment
When you leave your dog, wo mamta jaag jaati hai (that protective parent feeling kicks in), and that is natural. My job is to ensure your trust is placed in a system that works. Safety here starts with strict prerequisites. Every dog must be fully vaccinated, as I cannot compromise the health of the entire pack for one individual. This is a non-negotiable standard.
The Three-Step Boarding Method
- The Introduction: Bring your dog for a visit. Let them roam the Nandi Hills arena and get comfortable with the handlers.
- The Trial Day: Leave them for a few hours. This gives them the experience of the kennel routine without the pressure of an overnight stay.
- The Overnight: Once they are comfortable with the environment and the team, they are ready for a full stay. This gradual approach is the only way to avoid stress.
Monitoring Your Dog's Health
A healthy dog shows signs that you can spot easily. Look for bright, clear eyes, a shiny coat, and smooth, parasite-free skin. If your dog is lethargic, has excessive itching, or is coughing, do not wait. Whether you are at home or looking to board, these are immediate red flags that require a vet visit. My team performs basic physical inspections upon every arrival—checking for ticks, coat health, and general temperament—to ensure every dog in our care remains in top condition.
Why Structure Matters
Dogs do not thrive on boredom. They thrive on clear boundaries and predictable routines. When your dog stays with us, they aren't just 'kept' in a kennel. They are following a structured daily rhythm of supervised play, social interaction, and rest. This prevents anxiety and keeps them physically active, which is vital for their long-term health.
