Handcrafted Maharashtrian Cultural & Wedding Gifts
I create pieces that celebrate our culture, from wedding Mundavlya frames to traditional calendars. Every item is handmade in my studio to bring a touch of Marathi heritage to your home.
This is one of my favorite creations, a large, hand-painted Marathi month calendar. Each square represents a month with its unique cultural symbol, making it a colorful and meaningful piece of home decor.
This 'Mundavlya' frame is a unique and personal gift for newlyweds. It preserves the sacred wedding headwear along with the couple's names and wedding date, creating a cherished keepsake.
This Maharashtrian 'Nath' (nose ring) frame is a beautiful piece of cultural home decor. The intricate pearl nath is set against a traditional 'Khan' fabric, celebrating our heritage.
My Marathi month calendar is now available in a glass frame format. This video shows the vibrant, 3D icons representing the festivals of each of the twelve Marathi months.
It's wonderful to see my Marathi month calendar enhancing the beauty of a client's home, displayed here among their collection of travel magnets.
Another client shared this photo of the Marathi month calendar displayed on an easel in their puja corner, next to a silver Ganesh idol. It fits so perfectly.
I can customize decor frames to match any theme. This set was created for a client and includes a Maharashtrian Nath frame, a Saraswati yantra frame, and a Rajmudra frame.
My hand-painted Marathi month calendar is a popular gift item. This small version is perfect for a desk or a small wall space, adding a touch of tradition.
'Bandh Reshamache' (a bond of silk). A behind-the-scenes look at me carefully crafting the 'Mundavlya' for a wedding frame.
For wedding season, I offer a range of items perfect for 'Rukhwat' (wedding trousseau display) and 'Manpan' (gifts of honor). This video showcases some of my mini frames, ideal for such occasions.
About Maharashtrian Cultural & Wedding Gifts
When I work on a Mundavlya or Nath frame, I am not just assembling materials; I am preserving a moment. I use authentic Khunn and Paithani fabrics in the backgrounds, ensuring every piece reflects the richness of our traditions rather than looking mass-produced. You can choose the fabric color and even the specific motifs to match your wedding theme perfectly, making the gift feel like it was made exactly for that special person.
For me, Maharashtrian gifting is about keeping our stories alive. Whether you are looking for decor for a Rukhwat display or thoughtful 'bhet vastu' (gift items) for an upcoming Manpan ceremony, I focus on the details that matter. My 3D embossed frames and traditional Nath designs are meant to be kept for years, not just used for a day.
I personally handle the selection of the base—usually sturdy MDF or plywood—and ensure the painting and assembly are done with care in my Borivali studio. If you have a specific color palette for your wedding, let me know. I love working with the deep reds, greens, and vibrant yellows that define our festival and wedding colors.
If you are planning an event, please reach out with your timeline. Because everything is painted by hand and customized to your specific request, I appreciate a little advance notice to ensure your gift is ready to be a part of your celebrations.
