About Bold & Graphic Designs
Getting a crisp, graphic look like a cat-eye or animal print relies entirely on the base. I always start by checking your nail bed and prepping it, which is the only way to prevent lifting. When I do these designs, I use professional-grade magnets and high-pigment gel, so the finished set stays sharp and looks clean from every angle.
Bold and graphic nails are for when you want more than a standard manicure. It is about texture, precision, and choosing a look that matches your vibe.
Why These Designs Work
Graphic art requires a steady hand and the right products. Whether it is a black and white marble effect or a deep, velvety cat-eye, I use specific techniques to make sure the pigment stays vibrant. For animal prints, I focus on spacing and line work to keep the design from looking cluttered.
The Process
When you come into my Mahagun Mart studio for a design like this, we usually start with a consultation on the shape. Stiletto or almond shapes work best for graphic designs because they offer a larger canvas. I use e-file basics to ensure your natural nails are ready for the extension application, ensuring the foundation is solid before we even touch the gel polish.
Keeping it Fresh
One of the biggest issues with graphic nails is chips, especially with intricate line work. This is why I focus on proper capping of the free edge during the top coat application. It seals the art in. If you are opting for chrome or magnetic polish, the light reflection changes the look depending on how you move your hands, which is why I take my time with the magnet placement. It is a detail-oriented process, but the final result is worth it.
