The energy on the dance floor starts with hard work in the lab. Here is a look at how I produce my own music and craft the custom AfroDesi edits you hear on my radio sets.

I was excited to take over the 'Pure Spice' show on the BBC Asian Network for a month. It was a great opportunity to share my AfroDesi sound, play some unreleased tracks, and champion other amazing DJs and producers on a huge platform.

A quick smile in the studio. This is my happy place, where I can experiment with sounds and create the music that gets you dancing.

Here's a look at how I create my desi edits. This is a studio session where I added some spice to 50 Cent's 'Just a Little Bit', blending classic hip-hop with a Bhangra beat.

This is a studio clip of my Amapiano edit of the Bollywood classic 'Tujh Mein Rab Dikhta Hai'. It shows my process of fusing South Asian melodies with South African grooves.

A clip from my 'Asian-Hall' series, where I blend Dancehall with South Asian sounds. This mashup imagines a Vybz Kartel acoustic set in South India, mixing 'Fever' with the Tamil track 'Adiye'.

A look inside my studio as I work on a mix. The guitars on the wall are a reminder of the musicality that inspires my electronic productions. This is where I blended Drake with RDB.

This is a mashup of UK rapper J Hus with the Amapiano vibes of Busta 929. It's all about bridging sounds from the UK to South Africa and creating a new kind of energy.

Here's a mix for the UK vibe crew, blending the latest trends with some classic tracks. This mashup combines A1 x J1's 'Latest Trends' with Central Cee's 'Commitment Issues'.

About Behind the Music: Studio Sessions & Radio

You aren't just getting a standard playlist when we work together. You are getting the same level of detail I put into my BBC radio sets and studio mashups—tracks modified and layered right here in my studio to make sure they hit perfectly for your crowd.

The party is only as good as the sound, and the sound starts in the studio. Whether I am prepping for a 'Chai Yard' session or a high-octane headliner slot, my process is the same: I break down the original tracks and rebuild them with an AfroDesi twist.

My Process

I don't believe in copy-paste sets. When I am in the studio, I am looking for the hidden pockets in a Bollywood classic or a Tamil hit where an Amapiano groove or a heavy Afrobeats rhythm can live. I test these edits live on my radio takeovers, like the 'Pure Spice' show on the BBC Asian Network, to see what actually makes people move.

What This Means For You

When you book me, you are getting access to this library of exclusive edits. If you have a specific song that defines your relationship or a track that your family loves, I don't just play the original radio version. I spend the time in my studio to create a custom edit—or a full mashup—that fits the vibe of your event.

From the 'Asian-Hall' series where I blend Dancehall with South Indian sounds, to my latest 50 Cent Bhangra mashup, everything you see here is a preview of the creativity I bring to your venue. It is all about bridging cultures, keeping the energy fresh, and making sure nobody has heard your playlist anywhere else.

I’m Mr. Saj, and for me, music is a conversation between cultures. I spend my days in the studio blending everything from Carnatic rhythms to UK Garage, making sure every set I play is a one-of-a-kind experience—never a generic, pre-recorded mix.
