Handling a gig in a new city isn't just about showing up with a laptop. I usually fly in, grab a quick nap to reset my clock, and head straight to soundcheck to make sure the venue’s sound system is dialled in. Whether it’s navigating a different crowd’s musical preference in Nepal or working with the acoustics of a pub in Kochi, I focus on the technical setup first so the music hits exactly how it should when the set starts.
When you book a touring DJ, you need someone who adapts to the environment instantly. My experience spans from intimate lounges in Sri Lanka to high-octane clubs like Lord of the Drinks in Nepal.
What Touring Looks Like:
- Technical Versatility: I understand that every venue has different gear. I carry my own controller, but I am comfortable working on industry-standard Pioneer setups like the CDJ 2000NXS2 or 3000 for larger festival or wedding stages.
- Crowd Analysis: I don't play the same set in Goa as I do in Dubai. I read the room within the first ten minutes—whether it’s a house-heavy crowd or a Bollywood-loving party—and adjust my tempo to keep the energy rising.
- Reliability: Travel involves logistics, early flights, and late nights. My background in the fast-paced world of advertising and modeling means I treat my gig schedule with professional rigor. I show up on time, handle my own setup, and I am ready to perform, no matter the distance.
