Skin Prep for Flawless Makeup: My Essential Routine
A smooth, hydrated base is the real secret behind long-lasting glam. Here is how I prep skin for that dewy, glass-skin finish before any makeup touches the face.
Want that Korean glass skin look? It all starts with hydration. This radiance balm gives an instant dewy finish and a soft, natural-looking glow, creating the perfect base for makeup.
Don't just eat your Vitamin C, apply it too. This Klairs Vitamin C serum is lightweight, absorbs fast, and helps to brighten and revitalize the skin. It's a key step in my skin prep routine for a radiant complexion.
About The Foundation of Flawless Makeup: Skin Prep
Many people think heavy foundation covers texture, but if your skin is not hydrated, the makeup will eventually crack or look patchy. I always start by auditing your skin type and using a targeted CTM (Cleansing, Toning, Moisturizing) routine. Whether you are prepping for a bridal look or a quick party glam, this step determines if your makeup looks like a second skin or just a layer on top.
Most clients ask me why their foundation looks cakey by the evening. The answer is almost always the same. They skipped the skin prep. Whether you are getting ready for a bridal event or doing your own party makeup, your canvas needs to be healthy first.
The CTM Essentials
I swear by the CTM routine. Cleansing removes impurities, toning balances the pH, and moisturizing locks in hydration. For that dewy, glass-skin look, I often use a Vitamin C serum like Klairs, which is lightweight and absorbs quickly without feeling greasy. It brightens the complexion instantly. Follow this with a radiance balm if you want that natural glow.
Why Skin Prep is Different for Everyone
I do not use the same products for an oily-skinned bride and a dry-skinned party guest.
- For Oily Skin: I focus on oil-control primers and lightweight, water-based moisturizers that keep the T-zone matte but hydrated.
- For Dry Skin: I layer hydrating serums and richer creams. A good skin prep session takes about 15 to 20 minutes, and I never rush it.
My Teaching Approach
In my professional makeup courses in Sarjapur, I dedicate specific modules to skin analysis and prep. You cannot become a pro artist if you do not understand skin biology. We practice on different models so you learn how to handle acne-prone skin, sensitive patches, or mature skin. Makeup flawless chahiye toh skin prep is must. When you join my 30-day course, you will master these fundamentals before we even touch a makeup brush. Let's make sure your base is as perfect as your eye makeup.
