Makeup isn't just about the final result; it is about the craft. From my signature 70/30 shimmer-to-matte eye ratio to why I ditch heavy ring lights, here is how I achieve that radiant, timeless finish.

A visual example of mascara gradation. Applying more mascara to the outer corners of the lower lash line gives the eyes a beautiful, lifted look.

Here's a tip for a natural glow using a drugstore product! This video shows me applying the Makeup Revolution Balm Glow Blush for a dewy, fresh finish on Sanchi.

A little quirk of mine: I can do a full face of bridal makeup in dim lights but find extra ring lights distracting. It's all about feeling the makeup.

About My Signature Techniques & Pro-Tips

You will often hear me say that a 50/50 shimmer-to-matte ratio on the eyes looks too artificial. My go-to is a 70% shimmer and 30% matte cut-crease ratio. This creates depth and dimension without looking like you are wearing a costume, which is essential for capturing high-definition photography that actually looks like real skin.

Technique is the foundation of everything I do at my studio. I believe makeup should fit your features, not hide them. When I am working on bridal looks, I avoid heavy lighting setups because they distort how colors settle on the skin. I prefer natural or ambient lighting to see the texture, which helps me ensure the 'understated luxury' vibe I am known for.

Why I Use Specific Techniques

  • The Mascara Gradation: It is a small detail, but applying an extra coat of mascara strictly on the outer corners of the lower lash line creates an immediate lifting effect. It is a subtle trick that changes the entire eye shape.
  • Airbrush for Texture: If you have open pores or acne, I always recommend airbrush over manual foundation. It creates a seamless canvas that stays put through long wedding ceremonies without feeling heavy or caked.
  • The 70/30 Eye Rule: A lot of artists go heavy on glitter, but 'bahut hi made up' (too made up) looks can take away from your actual features. Keeping 30% of the lid matte grounds the look, allowing the shimmer to catch the light elegantly rather than washing you out.
  • Skincare First: I spend more time on skin prep than application. Whether it is Charlotte Tilbury or MAC, using the right primer ensures that the final look is not just beautiful when you leave the chair, but remains fresh until the very end of your event.
