About The Art of the Saree
When wearing a heavy silk saree or a modern cocktail drape, the key is balance. I focus on skin-first makeup that does not compete with the richness of your fabric, using specific techniques to ensure your jewelry and necklines remain the focus rather than being overshadowed.
Whether you are carrying the weight of a traditional heirloom Kanjeevaram or slipping into a modern, embellished saree for your reception, my goal remains the same: a polished, radiant finish. A saree commands attention, so I believe the makeup should act as a frame, not the painting.
For traditional South Indian or Maharashtrian looks, I prioritize skin health. I start with luxury skin prep—using hydrogel patches and lymphatic drainage—to ensure your face stays dewy and fresh even under heavy temple jewelry. We focus on defining your features with earthy tones that complement the rich gold and silk of your ensemble.
For modern or cocktail sarees, the approach shifts to high-impact glam. I create sharp contouring that holds up under venue lighting, combined with glossy or bold lips. I always account for the drape itself; if you have a backless blouse or an intricate neckline, I ensure your body glow and skin finish are consistent from your shoulders to your collarbones.
My process is deeply collaborative. During our session, I look at your outfit’s undertones and jewelry style before picking a palette. I want you to look back at your photos and see the most authentic, radiant version of yourself, not a masked face. My kit features premium brands like Chanel and Tom Ford, selected specifically for their ability to deliver a skin-like finish that lasts through long ceremonies or late-night dancing.
