Bridal Hairstyling for South Indian Weddings
Your hairstyle is the final touch that ties your whole bridal look together. From traditional jasmine-adorned braids for the Muhurtham to modern updos for your reception, I create styles that last through every ritual.

This image shows a traditional bridal bun, elegantly decorated with jasmine and other flowers. This hairstyle is perfect for securing a heavy dupatta or veil and is a timeless choice for Muhurtham ceremonies.
A close-up of a more modern take on a bridal braid. This style is looser and adorned with delicate flowers, offering a softer, more romantic feel for an engagement or sangeet.
This hairstyle features a loose, textured side braid with fresh jasmine flowers woven in. It's a beautiful fusion of modern and traditional, perfect for a pre-wedding event.
For her reception, we chose a chic and modern hairstyle. This textured updo keeps the hair off her face and complements the high neckline of her glamorous gown.

About this collection
I always suggest that if you’re planning on wearing heavy temple jewelry like a Rakodi or Billai, we secure your braid with professional-grade extensions first. This keeps your hair comfortable and volume-rich for the entire Muhurtham, ensuring the Mallige (jasmine) stays perfectly in place while you move.
Your wedding hair needs to be two things: beautiful and secure. Whether it is a traditional ceremony or a high-energy reception, I focus on styles that hold up for hours.
Traditional Muhurtham Braids
For the main Muhurtham, we often go with a classic, intricate braid. I use volume-boosting extensions to make sure the hair is thick enough to hold heavy traditional accessories like Rakodi, Billai, and Kunjalam. I also make sure the floral setting, using fresh Mallige (jasmine) or other seasonal flowers, is pinned securely so it doesn't droop or shift during the rituals.
Modern Reception & Pre-Wedding Looks
If your reception or engagement is coming up, we can move away from traditional braids. I love creating:
- Hollywood Waves: Perfect for a touch of glam with gowns or indo-western outfits.
- Textured Updos: Keeping the hair off your face so you can dance freely.
- Floral & Crystal Accents: Using delicate hair vines, baby's breath, or fresh flowers to complement your outfit's neckline.
My Process
My goal is for you to feel like yourself, just polished. During our session, we will discuss how your hair sits with your veil or dupatta and ensure that your hairstyle complements your jewelry rather than fighting with it. I use professional heat-styling tools and long-hold setting sprays so your look stays fresh from the first photo until the last dance of the night.
