Urban & Jazz Funk Choreography
Want your team to own the stage with something modern and sharp? Whether it is a corporate fest or a college competition, I break down complex Urban and Jazz Funk moves into routines that anyone can master.
Exploring an Afrobeat and urban fusion style. This kind of choreography is built on rhythm and clean lines, perfect for a group that wants to perform a trendy and cool routine.
An impromptu urban dance piece. I use these sessions to experiment with new moves and styles that I can then simplify and teach to corporate or college groups for their stage performances.
A snippet from a funk dance competition piece I choreographed and performed in. This style is all about sharp, synchronized movements and is an excellent choice for a team looking to showcase coordination and high energy.
A freestyle urban dance session. Improvisation helps me develop unique choreography that feels authentic and dynamic, which I then structure into easy-to-follow routines for groups.
Another late-night improv session, focusing on footwork and rhythm. These foundational elements are key to what I teach, ensuring that even first-time dancers can build a solid base for their performance.
About Urban & Jazz Funk
People often think Urban or Jazz Funk is too technical for groups with mixed skill levels, but I have a different approach. I spend the first two sessions just getting everyone comfortable with the beat and basic rhythm, so by the time we layer in the sharper formations, you aren't just following steps—you are actually feeling the routine.
When I choreograph for Urban and Jazz Funk, my goal is not just about nailing the perfect line. It is about collective energy. For corporate teams or college groups in Delhi and Noida, the challenge is always synchronizing a group where some have danced for years and others are stepping onto a stage for the first time.
My process is practical:
- The Foundation: We start with basic grooves and isolations. If you cannot feel the rhythm in your shoulders, you cannot hit the accents in the track.
- Structure: For a standard 3-4 minute track, I break the choreography into manageable blocks over 4 to 5 sessions. This ensures we have enough time to polish your formations and stage entries.
- Customization: Whether you want high-octane Hip Hop influences or smoother Jazz Funk, I tailor the difficulty. We focus on performance quality over technical gymnastics—meaning even if the step is simple, if you sell it with confidence, it looks professional.
I do not believe in background dancers. Every member of your group contributes to the visual. We spend time on transitions, ensuring no one looks lost between sections. If you are preparing for a corporate annual day or a college fest, we can absolutely pull off something that looks clean, modern, and high-energy without losing the fun factor. Let us get to work and make sure the audience is clapping along.
