About Flamenco Workshops & Educational Programs
I see Flamenco as more than just dance - it's my meditation, my daily रियाज़ (practice), and my श्रद्धा (devotion). Every year, I head to Granada and Madrid to learn from Flamenco masters, and I try to bring that same raw, powerful energy back here to share with you.
What I Offer
- If you’re brand new, the "Introduction to flamenco dance for beginners" is a chill place to start. We’ll work on posture, basic footwork (zapateado), palmas (clapping rhythms), and flowing hand/arm moves. No stress, no experience needed.
- For those who want to just feel the music, join my interactive jam sessions - less choreography, more spontaneous connection. Sometimes we even get live musicians and play with improvisation, compás (rhythm), and body percussion.
- Schools, colleges, and cultural folks - I run "Flamenco lecture demonstrations in schools" and institutions. We dive into Flamenco’s roots, the Rajasthani connection, and even compare it with Kathak. I demo different styles (palos) and talk about how Indian and Spanish cultures mix.
How I Teach
My style is puro y puro (pure and pure). I’m after the Duende - that indescribable soul of Flamenco. You’ll need to work hard (आपको रोज मेहनत करनी है - you have to work at it every day), but we keep it real and joyful. Ups and downs are part of it. लगे रहिए (keep at it)!
