Proposal and Engagement Photography
Capturing the butterflies, the nervous energy, and the pure joy of saying yes. Whether it is a surprise proposal or a grand engagement celebration, we document the start of your forever story.
This is it. The moment the world stops. I worked with Monil to plan this surprise down to the second, hiding to capture that pure, unfiltered shock on Vishruti's face. Capturing this split-second of raw emotion against the New York skyline is what I live for.
And after the "YES!", comes the happy, messy, beautiful aftermath. That first hug as an engaged couple, with the ring box still in hand. These are the candid, in-between moments filled with laughter and relief that you'll cherish forever.
A love story sealed with a kiss, with the city as their witness. After the big surprise, we take a few moments for a mini-session. No awkward posing, just you two soaking it all in. This is about capturing that electrifying chemistry.
Who says he has to be the one to ask? I absolutely loved capturing this moment where she went down on one knee during their engagement ceremony. His awestruck expression says it all. Your love story, your rules.
The pure, unadulterated joy of "we're engaged!". This black and white portrait captures that timeless feeling. It’s the laughter, the look in their eyes, and her hand showing off the ring that tells the whole story without a single word.
About Featured
A surprise proposal is more of a tactical mission than a standard photoshoot. I work with you to scout the perfect location and decide on the exact standing angle for lighting, all while staying invisible. My goal is to let you stay completely in the moment with your partner, capturing that raw, unfiltered reaction without you even noticing I am there.
Planning the Perfect Surprise
When we plan a secret proposal, the photography is only half the battle. The other half is the strategy. I arrive early to blend into the environment, whether that is a quiet beach at sunset or a crowded city spot. We will hop on a quick call beforehand to talk through the 'hiding spots' and signals, so when the time comes to drop to one knee, the only thing on your mind is their face, not where the camera is pointed.
More Than Just the 'Yes'
After the surprise, the nerves are gone and you are left with pure adrenaline. That is the best time for a 45-to-60-minute portrait session. We don't do awkward poses here. Instead, we capture the immediate aftermath—the laughter, the relief, and that feeling of just having changed your life. These are the moments that feel like home when you look back at them years later.
Engagement Ceremonies
If your proposal is part of a larger engagement or sangeet, the energy shifts to something more celebratory. From the 'varmala' exchange to candid shots of your friends cheering, I document the vibrant chaos that makes an Indian engagement special. My approach blends fine art portraits with raw, unscripted storytelling, ensuring we capture the chemistry between you two amidst the festivities.
Technical Details
For these sessions, I bring full-frame equipment and often an additional lighting assistant if we are shooting in challenging night conditions. My aim is to deliver high-resolution images that are naturally edited, ensuring that the colours—the 'gerua' tones of a sunset or the bright florals of your decor—look just as vibrant as they did in person.
