About Lost & Found Network (Delhi NCR)
We don't just rely on social media posts; we activate a ground network of local feeders and volunteers who know the street dogs by face. If you have lost a pet, please provide the last-seen location, clear photographs, and identifying marks immediately. Note that we strictly require proof of ownership before facilitating any reunions, as ensuring the animal's safety from potential harm or relocation is our priority.
How Our Network Operates
When a dog goes missing in Delhi NCR, the first 24 hours are critical. Our network spans from New Friends Colony to Jasola Vihar and beyond. We don't just put up posters; we coordinate with the people who are on the street daily—the feeders. These individuals are often the first to notice a newcomer or a missing familiar face in their community.
Why We Ask for Proof of Ownership
We have seen too many animals being relocated by people who simply don't want them around. Because of this, we are very careful. Whether it is a pedigree dog or a community Indie, we ask for:
- Recent photos or videos of the animal with you.
- Veterinary records or vaccination cards.
- Proof of residency in the area where the animal was lost.
This is not to make things difficult for you; it is to ensure that the animal is being returned to the right home and not to someone who might mistreat them.
What You Can Do Now
If you have lost a pet:
- Share the last known location: Be specific about the block and colony.
- Provide identifying markers: Does the dog have a collar? A specific white patch? Is it sterilized or timid?
- Stay alert: If you suspect your dog has been picked up by someone, tell us immediately. We have experience dealing with such conflicts and can provide the necessary on-ground support.
We are here to help, but remember that we are a team of activists on the ground. Be patient with us, and we will do everything to bring your family member back.
