About Bollywood & Bhangra Nights
I am not the DJ who just stands in the corner behind the deck. When the beat drops, I am on the mic choreographing the dance floor, pulling people up, and making sure everyone is dancing saamne aake (face to face). If you are looking for a passive playlist, I might not be the right fit, but if you want to keep the energy peaking for four hours straight, that is what I do.
How I Build the Vibe
My approach to Bollywood and Bhangra is not about playing the top 10 list on repeat. I build a flow. I start with tracks that get people comfortable, mix in heavy Punjabi beats to spike the heart rate, and drop Bollywood mashups that everyone knows the hook to. I have played at venues ranging from Indigo XP and The Fixx to Sugar Factory, so I know how to read a room, whether it is a packed club night or a private party.
The Performance Element
This is not background music. It is a performance. If I see the crowd needs a push, I am on the mic hyping them up. If the vibe calls for a live element, I collaborate with Dhol players or other musicians to layer sound on top of my tracks for a concert-level experience. My goal is simple: ensure your crowd forgets their worries and stays on the floor until the last song.
Technical Details
I bring my own professional Pioneer DDJ controller and laptop. For sound, I plug directly into the venue's PA system. Please note that I do not provide sound system rentals, speakers, or subwoofers, so ensure your venue has a system capable of handling the crowd size. If you have an LED wall or screen, I can sync my AV sets to the visuals to make the music hit harder.
Practical Info
I generally arrive 45 to 60 minutes before the set time to test the sound and get the levels right. If you have a specific theme, let me know. I have done everything from Women’s Day specials to holiday-themed sets, and I am happy to coordinate my set to match your party.
