About this collection
Before you start picking colors or flooring, get the functional basics right first. Most of the homes we visit in Bangalore have similar pain points, from inadequate cable management in TV units to kitchen layouts that trap dust. We recommend prioritizing storage-to-ceiling and ergonomic placement during your planning phase, not after the interior work is finished.
Design is not just about aesthetics, it is about how your space functions every day. Here is a quick guide based on what we see in our projects across Bengaluru.
Designing for Function
When planning your living area, start with space planning. If you want a cozy vibe, deeper tones work well, but keep your layouts open to maintain airflow. If you are designing your kitchen, consider extending overhead units to the ceiling to minimize grease and dust accumulation. For countertops, choosing between quartz and granite often comes down to budget and maintenance. Granite is more economical, while quartz offers more variety in colors and patterns.
Color and Material Choices
We often suggest the 60-30-10 rule to balance colors: 60% dominant color (walls, flooring), 30% secondary (furniture, cabinetry), and 10% accent (cushions, art). When selecting kitchen finishes, remember that acrylic provides a high-gloss premium look, while laminate is more durable and cost-effective for daily wear. Similarly, for flooring, SPC (Stone Plastic Composite) is 100% waterproof, making it a reliable choice for Indian households compared to traditional hardwood.
The Move-In Checklist
If you are taking possession of a new apartment, do not rush the handover. Always inspect the wall measurements against your floor plan, check door alignment, test window seals, and knock on floor tiles to identify hollow sounds. Catching these issues before you move in saves significant renovation costs later. We are always here to help if you need a professional set of eyes on your site.
