Creative Lighting & Ceiling Design

The ceiling is often the most underutilized plane in interior architecture. We approach ceiling design as a volumetric exercise, where the form of the gypsum or wood paneling directs the eye and creates depth.

Our design process focuses on three layers of lighting:

1. Ambient Layer: This involves concealed cove lighting that provides soft, indirect light, ideal for evening relaxation and minimizing harsh shadows.
2. Task Layer: We integrate recessed COB spotlights to ensure uniform lighting across high-use areas, such as seating groups or dining tables, ensuring no dark corners remain.
3. Focal Layer: This utilizes statement chandeliers or pendant lighting to anchor the design, often serving as the centerpiece of the room.

For traditional spaces, we integrate materials like etched glass panels or CNC-cut woodwork to add texture, while contemporary projects often utilize geometric, asymmetric gypsum drops to create clean, sharp lines. Every ceiling design is planned alongside the electrical layout to ensure that switches, sensors, and lighting controls are positioned for maximum ease of use.
