CCTV System Repair and Camera Upgrades

Is your monitor showing a blue screen, or are your cameras failing to record? I diagnose and fix CCTV issues, from simple signal loss to full system upgrades, to get your security running properly again.

My team and I troubleshooting a common issue: a glitchy, blue-tinted monitor. We diagnose the problem, whether it's the recorder, the cameras, or the wiring, and get the system working again.

A collection of old, weathered bullet cameras that were replaced. Over time, outdoor cameras can fail due to exposure to the elements, and an upgrade is often the best solution.

My team with a large stock of new Tiandy cameras and a D-Link switch, ready for a major system installation. We come prepared with all the necessary high-quality equipment.

My team at work, installing a new monitor and setting up the NVR in a commercial space. We handle every part of the installation process, from mounting cameras to configuring the system.

Installing a new security camera at night. I make sure the camera is positioned correctly for the best possible view and secure coverage, day or night.

A freshly installed Tiandy 5MP Starlight camera. This model is excellent for outdoor use, providing clear, color video even in low-light conditions.

More outdated equipment, including old PTZ and bullet cameras, removed from a client's property. I clear out the old system before installing a modern, more effective one.

About this collection

Many systems fail because of old BNC connectors or aging power supplies that cannot handle modern loads. When I troubleshoot, I do not just reset the software; I check your SMPS voltage with a multimeter and re-crimp all your RJ45 or BNC connections. Often, a 'broken' camera is just a signal issue from a loose wire or a rusted connector that needs proper waterproofing.

Common CCTV Problems I Fix

I see a lot of systems that were installed in a hurry. Common issues include flickering feeds, blue screens, or cameras that stop recording at night. If your system is old, you might be dealing with signal degradation from outdated analog cabling. I test your entire signal chain—from the NVR/DVR settings to the physical camera mounts—to find the root cause.

Why Upgrade to IP POE?

If your old analog cameras are failing, I often recommend switching to an IP POE (Power over Ethernet) system. The picture quality is miles better than standard analog. I use Tiandy 5MP Starlight cameras for these upgrades because they provide clear, color footage even in low-light conditions. These cameras are built for outdoor use, which is critical in our climate.

My Process

When you call me for a diagnostic visit, here is what I do:

  • Full Health Check: I inspect your NVR/DVR, test the hard drives (I prefer WD Purple drives for 24/7 reliability), and verify all connections.
  • Cable Management: Messy wires cause interference. I organize and bundle your cables properly to ensure the system runs cool and is easy to maintain later.
  • Configuration: I reset admin passwords, configure your motion detection zones, and set up the mobile app so you can view your cameras from anywhere.

I want you to feel confident using your system. After the repair or installation, I always provide a hands-on tutorial on how to use playback, how to zoom, and how to export footage so you are not left guessing.
