About Design Concepts & Practice Art
These practice sketches are where we map out your unique story before the henna touches your skin. Whether you want to include a depiction of your first date, a specific wedding hashtag, or your pet, we can layout the composition here first so you know exactly how the figures will balance with your traditional patterns.
Turning Your Story into Art
I treat my practice boards as a creative playground. It is where I experiment with new figures, intricate portraits, and modern themes. For you, this means we do not have to guess how a complex design will look. We can plan the placement of your proposal silhouette, your wedding date, or even a skyline that means something to both of you.
Why Figure Mehendi Needs Planning
Figure mehendi is an art form that requires careful spatial planning. If you want to include a couple portrait or a specific scene like a 'jharokha' or a scooter ride, the surrounding patterns need to be spaced perfectly so the main focal point isn't crowded. When we work on your custom design, I look at the area we are covering—whether it is the palm, forearm, or feet—and ensure the story flows naturally with the traditional motifs like peacocks or lotus.
Can We Mix Modern & Traditional?
Absolutely. My favorite designs are often a blend. I love mixing contemporary elements, like a 'Save the Date' calendar or a caricature, with dense, traditional 'bhara hua' (filled) mehendi. You get the richness of the classic bridal look with the personal touch of a modern storytelling piece. If you have an idea in your head, share it with me—even if it is just a rough thought, we can sketch it out and make it a reality.
