This is the rich, dark color you can expect from my cones. The design combines floral elements with checkerboard patterns, and the stain is consistent across the entire hand.

About The Stain Journey: From Paste to Rich Maroon
A dark stain isn't magic; it is just about letting the henna do its work. After I scrape off the dry paste, the color will initially look orange, but please do not wash it immediately. Keep the skin warm and dry for the first 12 hours, and you will see it bloom into that deep, rich maroon tone over the next two days.
Why Natural Stain Matters
Real organic henna does not stain dark instantly. If a cone gives you a black stain the moment you wash it off, it likely contains chemical dyes like PPD, which can irritate sensitive skin. My henna is made with only natural Sojat powder, sugar, and essential oils. Because it relies on natural oxidation, the color develops and deepens over 36 to 48 hours.
The Lifecycle of a Stain
- The Application: When I first apply the paste, it stays a dark, greenish-brown. You need to keep this on for at least 4 to 6 hours.
- The Removal: Scrape the dry paste off—never wash it with water.
- The Development: For the first 12 hours, the stain will look bright orange. Avoid water during this window.
- The Maturity: Over the next 36 hours, the stain oxidizes and darkens into that deep mahogany-maroon you see in my gallery.
My Aftercare Tip
To lock in the deepest color, apply a little bit of clove or eucalyptus oil after removing the paste. Keep the area away from water as much as possible for the first day. This simple care routine makes the difference between a fading orange color and a long-lasting, deep maroon shade that looks perfect for your wedding or festival.
