Receptions present a specific lighting challenge, as they are often held in dim banquet halls. I use portable studio lighting setups to keep your dance floor shots and stage portraits sharp, avoiding the graininess that comes with relying solely on the venue's existing lights.
The dynamic for engagements and receptions differs significantly from the main wedding ceremony. Engagement ceremonies are about the quiet, meaningful interactions between the couple and their families. Receptions are about energy, movement, and the celebration atmosphere.
My approach adapts to these settings. For engagements, I prioritize the ring exchange and formal family portraits. For receptions, the focus moves to candid shots of the dance floor and the interactions during the evening. My team arrives with a portable lighting rig, which is essential for ensuring that stage photos are crisp and well-exposed, regardless of the venue's constraints.
We document these events with a mix of photography and videography. You receive a selection of high-resolution, color-corrected images and a highlight reel that captures the mood of the party.
