About Behind the Scenes: The Creative Process
You might wonder why I insist on the golden hour for maternity sessions. It is not just about the aesthetic. Shooting during this narrow window of time removes the need for artificial lighting rigs, which allows you to move freely. This approach helps me capture the genuine expressions that often disappear when you are posed under harsh studio equipment.
How I Execute Your Shoot
When you book a session, the process involves more than just showing up with a camera.
The Gear and The Team My standard kit includes a full-frame Canon R6 Mark II. I rely on prime lenses for that soft background blur you see in my portraits. Depending on the package, I bring a lighting assistant to manage the equipment and reflectors. For the premium cinematic sessions, I also deploy a drone to get those wide aerial perspectives that ground your portraits in the environment, whether we are on a beach in Vasai or a cliffside.
The Golden Hour Factor I schedule all outdoor sessions either at 7:00 AM or 4:30 PM. This is non-negotiable because the light is softest during these times. It eliminates unflattering shadows on your face and creates that natural, warm glow. If we are shooting at a public park, I handle the flow of the shoot to ensure we maximize this time before the light changes.
Planning and Wardrobe Before the shoot, we discuss the color palette to ensure your outfits coordinate with the location. While you provide your own clothes for the standard sessions, I help with sourcing rentals for gowns if you opt for the premium package.
Travel and Logistics While I am based in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai, I travel across India for projects. If we are doing an outdoor session, please note that any location entry fees or permit costs for public parks or private property are paid by the client. My goal is to keep the technical side seamless so you can focus on the moment.
