Step into a space where art is not just a hobby, but a dedicated practice. We follow the traditional Gurukul system, focusing on discipline, honest reflection, and the quiet joy of creating without competition.

A core principle of our sadhana comes from a lesson shared by Guru Shri Vasudeo Kamath: "sketching karte samay… eraser mat use karo." We teach you to embrace the process and find the perfect line through practice, not correction. This is how you develop a confident hand.

Our philosophy is guided by the virtues of honesty, equality, and inner purity, as taught by visionaries like Basavanna. This principle of "inner purity, outer purity" is the foundation of our community and our approach to art.

We celebrate the teachings of Basavanna, which inspire us to create an environment of integrity and respect. These values are as important to our artistic practice as the pencil or the brush.

The atmosphere during exams is one of quiet focus and invocation. The traditional lamp, or 'diya', symbolizes the light of knowledge as students culminate their practice, applying their skills to a still life composition.

In our culture, teachers are revered for their ability to shape individuals and society. We honor this tradition, whether in the classroom or during an outdoor session, by creating a space for conscious learning and mentorship.

This is our community of artists. We welcome new students into a space where they can trust their ideas, learn from each other, and explore what is possible on their creative journey.

A moment of shared joy with our students. Art is about connection, and we are happy to build a supportive community where every artist can grow together on this colorful journey.

About The Gurukul: Our Philosophy and Space

When you join us, you will hear a common instruction: put away your eraser. We believe that 'wrong' lines are essential footprints of your learning process, not mistakes to be hidden. By leaving these marks, you learn to observe your own development and build a rhythmic confidence that a constant reliance on erasing only disrupts.
