About Art Workshops for Adults
We believe anyone can find their inner artist, no matter where you’re starting from. Our workshops aren’t about competition or rushing - they’re about discovery and calm.
Our Approach
Everything we do follows the Gurukul way, inspired by Basavanna’s teachings: honesty, respect, and keeping art pure. Before every session, we take a moment to ground ourselves - just a short invocation to get in the right frame of mind. Here, it’s more about sharing and growing, not showing off.
What You’ll Explore
- Dive into Indian folk art classes for adults, like Kalamkari and Madhubani. We don’t just teach techniques, we get into the real stories and traditions behind each style. Other folk arts like Gond and Saura are also in the mix.
- Watercolor painting lessons Bangalore style, covering everything from nature scenes to still life. We know this medium can be tough, so we guide you through it.
- Get outside with outdoor sketching workshops at Cubbon Park. There’s something special about learning directly from nature.
- Build a solid art foundation: sketching, acrylic painting, themed studies (animal, still life, portrait). “Eraser mat use karo, jo bhi galat rekhayein hain - rehne dijiye.” (Don’t use an eraser, let the wrong lines stay.)
Who’s It For
If you’re a total beginner or someone who wants to get better at the basics, you’ll fit right in. We’ve had everyone from lawyers to designers join us because art is for everyone, not just experts.
How We Run Things

- Outdoors in Cubbon Park

My Story
Namaskara! We’re Fine Arts Gurukul, not your regular art school. Since 2011, we’ve been making art a sadhana - a practice, not just a hobby. Festivals? We celebrate with paint, rangoli, and heart. We love Kalamkari and Gond, keeping those Indian art forms alive. Our guru Kamath ji says, ‘jo bhi galat rekhayein hain rehne dijiye’ (let the wrong lines be). That’s us - trusting the process, finding joy in every messy sketch. Classes start with an invocation, and you’ll always find a calm vibe here.
