Acne Scar & Texture Repair
Acne scars and uneven texture require a patient, clinical approach. We use a staged, multi-modal method—combining lasers, PRP, and microneedling—to rebuild collagen safely. My goal is to deliver real results that respect the specific needs of Indian skin.
This is a close-up of the Fractional Erbium laser at work. It's a powerful tool for resurfacing skin affected by severe acne scars. While it requires some downtime, the improvement in skin texture can be truly dramatic.
A multi-modal approach is key for acne scars. This video shows a combination of PRP injections and laser therapy. This synergy helps remodel collagen and regenerate tissue for smoother, healthier-looking skin.
Acne is the most common skin concern I treat. This week, we are focusing on providing valuable, evidence-based information about its causes and the various effective treatments available to help you achieve clear skin.
Skin resurfacing treatments are designed to improve overall texture, tone, and trouble spots in one go. Here you can see the procedure being performed to address concerns like acne scarring and uneven pigmentation for a smoother finish.
In this video, I answer common questions about Fractional Resurfacing Laser. I explain its benefits for texture and pores, the minimal downtime with the Erbium YAG laser I prefer for Indian skin, and what results you can expect.
About Acne Scar & Texture Repair
Repairing skin texture is rarely about one single treatment. Because Indian skin is prone to pigmentation, we generally avoid harsh CO2 lasers in favor of gentler, effective alternatives like Erbium YAG. Our staged treatment plans layer different modalities, from microneedling to regenerative therapies, allowing your skin to heal progressively rather than all at once.
Our Approach to Scar Revision
Acne scarring is not a one-size-fits-all condition. When you visit our Juhu clinic, we don't jump straight to the laser. We start with a clinical assessment—often using dermoscopy—to understand the depth and type of your scarring, whether it is atrophic (pitted) or hyperpigmented.
Why a Staged Plan?
Skin healing takes time. We build a roadmap that might combine several technologies to maximize collagen production while minimizing downtime:
- Fractional Erbium YAG Resurfacing: This provides significant improvement in texture and pores with much lower heat-related risks compared to traditional CO2 lasers, making it safer for darker skin tones.
- Microneedling & PRP: By delivering growth factors directly into the skin, we encourage the body to repair old scar tissue from within.
- Subcision & Fillers: For deep, tethered scars, we sometimes need to release the fibrous bands beneath the skin before resurfacing can be effective.
What to Expect
Treatment is a journey of small, measurable improvements. You might experience mild micro-scabbing for 5 to 7 days post-resurfacing, but this is a normal part of the renewal process. During your consultation, we will be transparent about the number of sessions required and the realistic outcome you can expect based on your specific skin type and the age of your scars.
